The Fred Spa Hairstylist Job Description
Position Summary
The Fred's Spa Hairstylist will serve customers by preparing, conditioning, coloring and /or styling hair.
Essential Job Functions

Performs hair style consultation in order to decide what services the client needs

Provides services to clients such as shampooing, cutting, styling, coloring and highlighting as desired

Maintains safety standards and cleanliness

Emphasizes product benefits and assist clients in the selection of retail products or services for their hair care needs

Maintains a consistent relationship with client base in order to ensure return clients

Proactively develops new customers
-
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Supportive Job Functions:
-
Work with flexibility during high volume periods and cover shifts when necessary within the department.

Communicate all information related to the property to the Spa and/or Hotel Manager in a timely manner.

Be available and able to give local direction to guests.

Be available and able to give out general hotel knowledge to guest.

Work with the Spa and/or Hotel Manager to ensure compliance in all safety related matters.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-
Holds valid license issued by the Virgin Islands
-
Preferred 2 year of experience
-
Preferred training or certification from hair styling or cosmetology school

Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to include weekends, morning, mid and possibly even night shifts.

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Must have good customer service skills

Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills.

Attends and participates in continuing education and training in order to follow new trends and techniques.

Thorough knowledge of hair styles, hair care products and related procedures.

Work with minimal supervision.

Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
-
Work well under pressure of organizing and attaining production schedules and timeliness.

Follow directions thoroughly.

Share ideas.
Physical Requirements:
-
Light work standing and walking frequently for up to entire work shift.
-
Lifting up to 10 pounds consistently, up to 75 or more pounds occasionally.

Able to reach, lift, carry, push, pull, grasp, manipulate or otherwise move objects.

Frequent bending, squatting, twisting and turning.
-
As a seasonal property, long hours during peak periods sometimes required.
